become a volunteer

Volunteers play a very important role at DVSC. They assist with fundraising activities, provide childcare, counsel victims of domestic violence, answer the crisis hotline, provide clerical support, and work with residents of DVSC’s Bridge Housing Program.

Volunteers also facilitate DVSC’s Community Support Group, provide community education, and are on-call to go to hospital emergency rooms to assist victims of domestic violence.

DVSC even has a Foster Pet Program made possible by volunteers who foster the animal while the victim is in shelter and safe from abuse. You can download more information on the Foster Pet Care Program by clicking on the link below or by calling (570) 823-6799 ext. 238.

Volunteers who wish to provide direct services to victims of domestic violence are provided with Counselor/Advocate Training.

DVSC volunteers truly make a difference in the lives of the women and children affected by domestic violence.

For more information about volunteer opportunities, contact DVSC’s Volunteer/Outreach Coordinator at (570) 823-6799 ext. 238.
